Welcome to Timber Lost Resort on Little Crooked Lake on-line!

Timber Lost is a family-friendly three cabin housekeeping resort located in Northern Wisconsin’s Vilas County, seven miles west of Boulder Junction. The resort overlooks Little Crooked Lake, which is one of the many lakes found in the Northern Highland State Forest. Timber Lost is completely surrounded by State owned land, which offers abundant and secluded nature enjoyment.

Timber Lost was built in 1947 by Milton and Doris Loew. Matt, with the help of his wife, Leah, is proud to continue the tradition of hospitality that his parents established over fifty-seven years ago. Matt and Leah, and their children (the third generation of Timber Lost Loews) look forward to helping you enjoy a peaceful vacation at their home in the Northwoods.

LODGING - The three comfortable cabins have knotty pine interiors. Each has two bedrooms and a pull-out couch, allowing accommodations for six people. Also, the cabins have fully equipped kitchens & screened in porches. In addition, each unit comes with a picnic table, Weber grill, and 14-foot aluminum fishing boat. We do not have TV's, telephones, or clocks.

Little Crooked Lake is 150 acres in size and has a maximum depth of 30 feet. It contains a variety of fish including Musky, Northern Pike, Walleye, Large-mouth Bass, Crappie, and additional pan fish. As with other lakes in the area, Little Crooked’s healthy game fish population doesn’t always guarantee an easy catch. To maintain the peaceful atmosphere of this smaller lake and to protect the delicate wildlife (such as the loons), water skiing is discouraged and jet skis are not allowed.

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW
Located in the “snow belt,” we have snow when others don’t. Timber Lost is located near a fabulous snowmobile system affording you over 700 miles (and 3 states) of groomed trails. Lots of territory to explore from the door for the cross country skier too; additional maintained trails close by. Ice skating and sledding are here, too. Ice fishing is excellent!
